We know – neither of us has written here in several weeks. We’ve been horribly busy, pushing out product almost as fast as it’s been coming in; between the business, various church and family-related activities and obligations, and all the other presses on time and energy that come with everyday adult life, we’ve been running exhausted and on fumes for weeks now. So we’ve been looking very forward to getting out of town for a few days and celebrating a very happy event: the wedding of Robyn Taylor and Andrew Heise.
Robyn is Kristi’s cousin; Kristi’s mother is the older sister of Robyn’s father. It’s hard to do justice to how well loved Robyn is in the Taylor (and presumably, the Heise) family. She’s funny, smart, full of life. When Kristi and I were married in 2008, Kristi’s grandfather gave the blessing and publicly called Robyn out: you’re the next one to be married, he said. She was terribly embarrassed. But we spent the weekend joking with him about who he was going to call out this time – because obviously, the blessing stuck.
Luckily, Andrew is a great guy. A perfect match for Robyn’s energy, wit and grace. We’re all so very happy for them both.
So we all piled up in our respective vehicles and tooled over to Lake Tahoe, Nevada this weekend for the Saturday wedding. The weather was beautiful, the bride was stunning, and the reception party was a riot. Rocking to the tunes of DJ Diamond Dave Hosley, we all had a blast dancing into the late hours. Tellin’ ya, you haven’t lived until you’ve seen a 60-ish wedding DJ pounding out “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga:

Thanks for inviting us – we had a great time. Congratulations Andrew and Robyn!
As a side note: we’re working on something today for Andrew and Robyn, and are coming up with a list of songs Dave ran on Saturday night. Anyone who was there and out on the floor, what songs do you remember best? What were your favorites? Leave a comment – thanks!
